Professional player Jordan McRae, a Liberty County graduate, has started his second season with the Delaware 87ers of the NBA-D League.
His former Panther teammate and University of Miami graduate, Rion Brown is in his second season with Belgium’s Basic Fit Brussels of the European basketball League – Euro-Basket.
McRae scored 22 points in the 87ers 113-101 loss to the Grand Rapids Drive on Nov. 14. He chipped in 17 points in their 102-93 win over the Canton Charge Nov. 17.
Last year, McRae started in all 13 games for the 87ers, scoring 239 points, 53 rebounds, 50 assists, 14 steals and 13 blocks.
McRae and the 87ers were scheduled to play the Erie Bayhawks and Fort Wayne Mad Ants Friday and Saturday, respectively. They play the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Brown is seven games into the season with his team boasting a 4-3 record as of Friday. He’s scored 6.9 points and has 3.4 rebounds to date, according to stats posted on eurobasket.com.
Brussels is set to play Antwerp today.
