McRae preps for summer league this weekend

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced their 2016 summer league roster Tuesday afternoon which will feature former Liberty County High School basketball player Jordan McRae.

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced their 2016 summer league roster Tuesday afternoon which will feature former Liberty County High School basketball player Jordan McRae.

McRae, who just signed a deal to rejoin the Cavaliers for next season, was expected to make his summer league start in game one this weekend.

Game one is scheduled for Friday at Cox Pavilion against Milwaukee. Game two is set for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against Brooklyn.

Monday night McRae and the Cavaliers take on Minnesota at 8:30 p.m.

The Cavaliers have played in the Las Vegas Summer league since its inception in 2004 according to the Cavaliers’ press release.

According to the release the 24-team field at Samsung NBA Summer League 2016 is composed of 11 playoff teams from the 2015-16 NBA season, 12 teams with lottery picks in NBA Draft 2016 presented by State Farm and an NBA Development League Select Team.

Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 8-12 before being seeded in a tournament that starts on July 13 and concludes with the Championship Game on July 18. Each team is guaranteed to play at least five games.

After Monday's games the teams will fall into bracket and tournament play based on the following schedule:

Wednesday, July 13
Seeds 9-24 will play in 8 games at the below times and locations: 
Cox Pavilion: 4 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. 
Thomas & Mack: 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 14 
Seeds 1-8 will play against the winners of July 13th games at the below times and locations: 
Cox Pavilion: 4 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. 
Thomas & Mack: 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m.

Friday, July 15 
Losers from games on July 13th and July 14th will play at the below times and locations: 
Cox Pavilion: 4 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. 
Thomas & Mack: 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 16 - Quarterfinals 
Winners from games on July 14th will play at the below times: 
Thomas & Mack: 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Sunday, July 17 - Semifinals 
Winners from games on July 16th will play at the below times: 
Thomas & Mack: 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Monday, July 18 - Championship 
Thomas & Mack 
Winners from games on July 17 will play at the below time: 
Thomas & Mack: 9 p.m.

ESPN will present all 67 games from Las Vegas across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU and WatchESPN.
