The WNBA's newest team is looking for that "hidden gem."
The Atlanta Dream, Atlanta's newest professional franchise will have an open tryout for the 2008 roster on Tuesday, April 15, at Suwanee Sports Academy. Only the first 500 completed applications and payments received will be confirmed to compete. Head coach/GM Marynell Meadors and other members of the Atlanta Dream coaching staff will evaluate the talent.
Interested participants must download the registration form from the Dream's Web site www.AtlantaDream.net.
The registration fee is $75. All applications and payments must be received by April 11.
To be eligible to tryout, all applicants must:
1. Be female and at least 22 years old or will have your 22nd birthday this year, or
2. Graduated or is to graduate from a 4-year college or university this year and has no remaining intercollegiate eligibility.
International players of any age can tryout.
Confirmed participants will receive an information packet via e-mail with additional instructions. If more than 500 applications are received, the Dream will provide refunds.

The Dream will begin play in May at Philips Arena, joining the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics in the Eastern Conference. The team will tip-off in its first regular season home game on May 23 against defending Eastern Conference champions the Detroit Shock.
