Lady Panther Dejah Smith placed second in the discus throw at the state track meet last weekend in Albany.

According to the final results posted on ga.milesplit.com, Smith threw the discus 127 feet, 8 inches.
She also placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 36 feet, 4 inches, according to track coach Nathan Mims.

The coach said only five Liberty County Lady Panthers made the trip to state.
In addition to Smith, Lady Panthers Alyisha Anderson, Alexus Cisco, Kiara Edwards and Asiayna Achane competed.
Anderson placed eighth in the triple jump.

“They all had a great season,” Mims said.
