The Panthers trailed 0-3 in the bottom of the 2nd inning. However, Panther Joe Watkins hit a double and Brandon Whitmore and Desbiens walked on base. With the bases loaded and two outs, Cam Harris slammed one, bringing in two runners.

The Wildcats added a run in the top of the third to stay up 4-2.

The Panthers loaded the bases and Watkins hit one to right field, which allowed runner Eddie Chipple to tag up and take home.

In the 4th, the Wildcats added another run. With the Panthers at bat, Harris bunted to advance Zach Hensley. Cody French hit a double, bringing in Harris and the Panthers trailed 5-4. Chris Arnold was hit by a pitch and French took home on a wild pitch to tie the game at 5.

In the top of the 5th, the Panthers struck out a batter and converted a double play.

The Panthers kept the Wildcats in check, took their last at-bats in the 7th and edged out Richmond Hill’s one-point lead with Desbiens hit on 2 outs.

Panther pitchers Eaton pitched four and Watkins closed the game, getting the win.

"I am proud of how the boys came back today," Panther coach David Samuel said. "We found ourselves in a hole early and we continued to hang in and keep chipping away. The guys played hard today and kept themselves in the game by keeping a level head."

The victory gives the Panthers a 2-3 region 3-AAA record as they prepare to host Washongton County Saturday at 1 p.m.

They are 5-5 overall.
