Liberty County High School dropped the season opener after a series of miscues, fumbles and interceptions made the game a bit easier for the Effingham County Rebels. The visiting team strolled away with a 35-7 Friday night at Donell Woods Stadium.

The highlight for the home team was an unofficial 75 yard touchdown rush by Jacquez williams. The Panthers played without starting quarterback Walker Franklin and starters Richard LeCounte and Jeremiah Gilbert.

First Presbyterian Christian Academy opened their third season on the road at Bulloch Academy. The Highlanders lost 48-6.
