Panthers maintain hold on 2-AAA first

With its postseason assured, Liberty County kept its hold on first place in the Region 2-AAA football standings with a 46-0 win over Brantley County on Friday night in Nahunta.

Kris Coleman scored three touchdowns and ran for 110 yards for the Panthers, who improved to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the region.

The Herons fell to 0-4 in 2-AAA and 0-8 overall.

The Panthers, who went 2-3 through the first half of the season, have won four straight. They are a game ahead of Appling County and Pierce County.

Liberty beat Appling 35-13 on Oct. 13.

The Panthers play host to Pierce County on Friday at Donnel Woods Stadium in Flemington.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
