Panthers split game at Joe Greene Classic

Liberty County High School took a loss and a win at the Joe Greene Classic Tuesday at Beach High School.

The Liberty boys improved to 4-0 after winning a close contest over Northeast Macon 46-43. The Panthers led by only two points at the half, but Mike Farrior brought his ‘A’ game, scoring 15 points for LCHS. Melvin King added 10.

Lady Panther Precious Williams led the Liberty girls’ scoring with 18 points, but Northeast Macon’s Maria Bacon scored a game high 26 points to lead the Macon girls to a 58-44 victory. The Lady Panthers fall to 3-1.

In other local basketball news, the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders, from Ludowici, split victories against Pinewood Christian.

The Crusader boys led 48-15 at the half and never relented in beating Pinewood 85-37.

The girls fell to Pinewood 52-14.
