Tigers hold off EC

Despite a strong push in the fourth quarter by the Effingham County Rebels, The Bradwell Institute Tiger football team took a 31-28 win this past Friday night at Hokey Jackson Stadium.

The Tigers came out fighting taking a 10-0 lead at the close of the first quarter.

The Rebels’ offense responded scoring two touchdown in the second quarter but the Tigers matched that with two of their own. After halftime the Tiger shut out the Rebels in the third quarter of play while tacking on a touchdown for the home side bench.

The Rebels defense stymied the Tigers in the final quarter of play. The Effingham offense took the field and added two more touchdowns as they attempted their comeback.

The Tigers are off this Friday and host Richmond Hill Oct. 25 at Olvey Field at 7:30 p.m.
