The Panthers are headed to the second round of the playoffs after defeating LaGrange 16-13 in OT Saturday night at Callaway Stadium.

It's a first for the high school's football team who battled the Grangers and kept the score tied at 10 throughout the second half.

LaGrange had the first possession of the overtime drive and nearly scored a touchdown, but dropped a pass in the end zone. They lined up and kicked a field goal to go up 13-10.

The Panthers took over and faced a third down. Panther running back Shadrach Thornton stormed through his line and made it to the 2-yard line and a Panther first down. Panther quarterback Julian Stokes ran the ball to the outside for the touchdown and 16-13 win.

The Panthers will celebrate tonight and tomorrow but will begin to prepare for Jackson next weekend with a workout on Monday.
