Liberty County High School beat Brantley County 49-14 Friday night at Donell Woods Stadium. The win guarantees the Panthers the right to host the first round of the region 2-AAA playoffs.
Liberty is 4-0 in region play and 8-1 overall.
Next Friday the Panthers travel to Pierce County.
At Hokey Jackson Stadium the Bradwell Institute Tigers had a huge third quarter surge. But a fourth quarter punt, recovered by the Effingham Rebels, kept the win out of reach for the Tiger football team. They lost 32-21.
Bradwell is 3-4-1 and 1-2 in region 2- (6) A.
The Tigers travel to Glynn Academy Friday.
