Bradwell girls hold off


Bradwell Institute held off Brunswick 48-45 in a girls’ Region 2-AAAAAA basketball game Friday night at BI.

The Lady Tigers had three players in double figures, led by Taniyah Bowman’s 13 points. Seniors Ky’leo Worriels and Jada brooks added 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

Bowman also had eight rebounds and seven steals for BI, which improved to 15-5 overall and 3-2 in the region.

Bradwell boys fall to Brunswick

In the boys’ game, the Tigers fell 54-38 to fall to 2-17 overall. 

Bradwell played at Effingham County on Tuesday night in a region doubleheader. The Tigers play at Statesboro on Saturday. 

Liberty County teams swept by Warriors

Liberty County fell 66-61 in a Region 2-AAA boys’ basketball game. David Thomas had 19 points and 9 rebounds for the Panthers. LaDarrius Mack added 16 points and 13 rebounds as the Panthers dropped to 6-11 overall and 3-3 in 2-AAA.

In the girls’ game, Liberty fell 49-46 to the Warriors. The Lady Panthers are 5-11 overall and 2-4 in the region.

Liberty County played host Tuesday to Pierce County in a region doubleheader. Up next for Liberty is Brantley County on Friday night.
