Registration ongoing for Monster Mash Dash 5k,Run

Soon October will be here, and it will be time for the Monster Mash. Join Healthy Hinesville and the City of Hinesville as they partner to fundraise for the 2019 Mayor’s Motorcade charity with the Monster Mash Dash 5k and Fun Run. Online registration for this event began on July 10.  

The Monster Mash Dash will be held in downtown Hinesville on Saturday, Oct. 5. The 1 – Mile Fun Run will begin at 7 a.m. and the 5k will begin at 7:30 a.m. 

The registration fee schedule for each race is as follows: 1-Mile Fun Run Early Bird: now through July 31: $10 per person. Regular: Aug. 1 – Sept. 20: $15 per person. Late: Sept. 21 – 30: $20 per person. Day of event registration: $30 per person.

5K: Early Bird: now through July 31: $20 per person. Regular: Aug. 1 – Sept. 20: $25 per person. Late: Sept. 21 – 30: $30 per person. Day of the event registration: $40 per person The deadline to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt is Friday, September 20. Day – of registration will be cash or check only (payable to COH and with Mayors Motorcade in the Memo line). 

Please note, if you plan to run in both the 5k and 1-Mile, you must register for the 5k. Bib numbers will be assigned by event and numbers assigned to the 1 - Mile race may go unnoticed or be skipped in the timing process for the 5k. 

Day of the event registration will begin at 6 a.m. in Bradwell Park. Day of registration will end at 6:40 a.m. for the 1 – Mile Fun Run and 7:10 a.m. for the 5k. 

T-shirts: Participants who register by Friday, Sept. 20 at 11:59 p.m. will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Adult shirts will be Hanse Cool DRI Performance Tees and youth shirts will be Hanes Cool DRI Youth T-Shirt. 

Race logo and T-shirt design will be revealed by Thursday, Aug. 8 in the race’s Facebook event group. 

Packet pickup: Pre-race packet and swag bag pickup will be on Friday, Oct. 4 from 5 – 7 p.m. at City Hall. Day of packet pickup will begin at 6 a.m. in Bradwell Park on Saturday, Oct. 5. No registration will take place during packet pickup on Friday night. 

Awards: The 1 – Mile Fun Run will not be scored. The 5k will have the following awards: Men’s Overall 1st – 3rd Women’s Overall 1st – 3rd First Place Age Group Finishers in Men’s and Women’s for the following age groups: 14 & Under, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, and 60-plus. 

The Monster Mash Dash 5k and Fun Run will also feature 1st – 3rd place prizes for the Best Dressed Runners – so come dressed to impress in Halloween running gear. Awards will be presented by 9:30 a.m. in Bradwell Park.

The Mayor’s Motorcade began in 1959 as a campaign to raise awareness of the needs of Georgia mental health hospitals and their residents.
