Reports on Sunday indicated that Georgia Southern head football coach Jeff Monken will become the next head coach at the United States Military Academy.
Sal Interdonato, the Army football beat writer for the Times-Herald Record in Middletown, N.Y., wrote in a blog Sunday that the announcement will come within the week.
“Army is expected to hire Georgia Southern’s Jeff Monken as its next head football coach, sources have confirmed. An official announcement may not be made until after Christmas because it could take time to work out Monken’s contract. Monken would become the academy’s 37th coach,” Interdonato wrote.
No official statements had been made by Army or Georgia Southern as of Monday.
