RIP-Tide youth team goes 4-1

Long County’s 7- and 8-year-old football team RIP-Tide had a successful football season with a 4-1 record.
Members of the team were Jared Lynn, No. 1 Rex Johnson, No. 12 Christian Bass, No. 9 Zachary Johnson, No. 33 Bowen Smiley, No.  7 Jathan Green, No. 34 Gavin McNeel, No. 2 Aaron Thacker, No. 42 Ethan Wilson and No. 6 Cody Bolick.
Also on the team were No. 3 Tristan Jeffers, No. 13 Jonathon Elder, No. 60 Isaac Abram, No. 40 Malik Johnson, No. 46 Jashaun Cochran, No. 48 Blake Edmondson, No. 50 Holden Riddle, No. 72 Noah Butler, No. 75 Garrett Bleyman, No. 81 Gavin Allan, No. 32 Nick Hester and No. 30 Jake Hester.
Coaches for the team were Head Coach, Bruce Green, and Assistant Coaches, Jamey Jeffers, Jason Smiley, Bill Hester and Mike Riddle.
“I am proud of all the boys on the team, they improved tremendously, and everyone learned a lot and had a good time,” said Green.
The coach added, “I also want to thank all the parents for their support, and hope to coach most of the boys again.”
The Long County Recreation Department had one other 7- and 8-year-old team, and a 9- and 10-year-old team. The Coastal Courier will post their pictures, rosters and results after they are submitted.
