Georgia Game Changers owners Ron and Sandra Elliott have set an ambitious schedule for next weekend.

They’ll have the ribbon cutting and open house for the new Game Changers Health & Fitness Complex at 8872 Ford Ave. on Friday, July 24, from 10-11 a.m. with the ribbon cutting at 10:15. Light refreshments will be served.

The next day, Saturday, July 25, is the third annual Red Hot Chili Pepper 5K Run. Proceeds from the run benefit the Thornwell Home for Children, a Christian program to provide homes for abused and abandoned children.

The Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce is helping get the word out about the grand opening. Chamber repesentatives, Richmond Hill Mayor Harold Fowler and other invited guests will be there.

Georgia Game Changers Running Company, Game Changers Bike and Multi-Sport Store, and Victory Haven Cafe Organic Juice and Smoothie Bar are the businesses currently open at the complex. However, a variety of opportunities to “change the game” will expand because a variety of fitness-related businesses are expected to locate in the complex.

The grand opening continues through the weekend with packet pick-up for Saturday’s run also happening at the store on July 24.
Online registration for the race ends July 23, though sign-up also will be available at packet pick-up and on race day. It costs $30 in advance, $35 on race day.

The 5K race will start and finish at Jalapeno’s Mexican Restaurant, beginning at 8 a.m. The kids run starts from the same location at 7:45 p.m. Registration opens at 7. The awards ceremony and multiple vendor party at the new Game Changers Complex from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
