Former Liberty County High School and North Carolina State running back Shadrach Thornton is back on the football field, playing for the six-time Indoor Football League defending World Champion Arizona Rattlers.

Thornton debuted with the Rattlers March 18, rushing for 88 yards on 19 carries and scoring three touchdowns in a 37-31 win over the Green Bay Blizzard.

Last weekend Thornton rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns in the Rattlers 62-49 win against the Nebraska Danger.
The win placed the Rattlers (3-1) in the number one spot in the IFL.

Legal troubles led to Thornton being dismissed by N.C. State in his senior year in 2015. Thornton was briefly in the Canadian Football league before taking some time away from the sport.
