Hinesville native Charles (Trey) Sikes will play in a doubleheader as his New England Baseball league team, the Valley Blue Sox, take on the Sanford Mainers at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Holyoke, Mass.
Sikes’ summer-league play ends Saturday in North Adams, Mass., with a 6:30 p.m. game against the Steeple Cats.
Sikes leads the Blue Sox in home runs with four and is third on the team in RBIs with 12. The former Liberty County High School player has batted in 32 games with 103 at bats, 11 runs and 23 hits, including five doubles.
The first baseman has 184 putouts to date this year in 23 games in the field.
