Former Savannah State University baseball player Charles Sikes was recently named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s All-Time team for baseball. The team was composed of 50 student-athletes from the conference’s member schools over the past 50 years.
Sikes was the 2015 MEAC Player of the Year and was a two-time First Team All-MEAC selection in 2014 and 2015.
The Hinesville native led the Tigers in batting (.363), hits (73), doubles (15), home runs (10), RBI (51) and slugging percentage (.597) during the 2014 season. he was second on the team in runs (41).
In 2015, Sikes led SSU in doubles (16), home runs (7) and slugging percentage (.522) and was second on the team in batting (.323), runs (31), hits (60) and RBI (37).
Sikes is a graduate of Liberty County High School.
