Golf benefit planned
The second annual Long County Baseball golf tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cherokee Rose Golf Course in Hinesville.
Sign-up begins at 1 p.m., and tee-off is at 1:30 p.m.
Tournament fees are $60 per person or $240 for a team of four. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams. There also will be prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-one. For more information, call 432-6149 or 703-229-2648.

Tuesday league set

Video-game tournament planned at Long Co. HS
The Long County High School boys’ basketball team will host a Madden 2014 PlayStation 4 tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, in the high-school gymnasium.
The winner of the tournament will win the newest version of the Madden game, pending the entrance of at least 20 players.

Albert Nelson Memorial golf tourney set
The 29th annual Albert Nelson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart.
The fee for the four-person scramble is $50 per person, including cart, green fees and food.
The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 3.
