Self-defense class

The Liberty County Recreation Department will offer free security and self-defense classes this month:
• Thursday at the Liberty County Community Complex in Midway at 6:30 p.m.;
• April 26 at the Shuman Center in Hinesville at 6:30 p.m.
The instructor is state-certified. You don’t need to register, just show up dressed in workout clothes. This course is for ages 14 and up. For information, call LCRD at 912-876-5359 or the complex at 912-884-3500.

Swing for re-entry tourney

The Liberty County Prison Re-entry Coalition will host a golf tournament Saturday at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart. The fee is $50 per person or $200 for a four-person team. Mulligans are $5 each.
