Fishing for 200 Club
SAVANNAH — The fifth annual Coastal Empire Kingfish Classic Tournament is slated to return to Richmond Hill on June 11. Hosted by Fort McAllister Sport Fishing Club, the tourney is expected to draw scores of anglers to the Ogeechee River. Proceeds from the day on the water, live music and family-friendly activities will benefit The Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting families of law-enforcement officers and firefighters who suffer critical injuries or death in the line of duty. Since the Savannah-based club, www.twohundredclub.org, was founded 15 years ago, it has given more than $1.2 million to the loved ones of first responders.
Early entries are now being accepted, and the team fee is just $350. After June 1, the fee climbs to $375. Early entries should be mailed to P.O. Box 1133, Richmond Hill, GA 31324. Make checks payable to Fort McAllister Sport Fishing Club. Organizers cannot accept credit cards.
