Weightlifters representing Team Hinesville performed well at the Georgia/Alabama Local Weightlifting Committee meet Dec. 18 at the Anderson/Cohen Weightlifting Center in Savannah.

Dominique Brunson, Jaleel Menifee, J. Bacon, Nick Stock and David and Michael Purser finished in first and James Fox placed second in their respective weight and age classes, according to Team Hinesville coach Jenna Bussard,

Brunson, 16, competed in the 62-kilogram weight class and recorded a personal best in the snatch, hoisting 91 kilos for the first-place finish. Brunson didn’t place in the clean and jerk.

Menifee, 16, placed first in the 69-kilogram weight class, lifting 83 kilos in the snatch and 98 kilos in the clean and jerk.

J. Bacon, 21, also competed in the 69-kilogram weight class. He took first in his age division with lifts of 62 kilos in the snatch and 76 kilos in the clean and jerk.

In the 77-kilogram weight class, Nick Stock, 14, lifted 71 kilos in the snatch and 94 kilos in the clean and jerk for first place. Fox, 16, snatched 71 kilos and clean and jerked 90 kilos for second place.

Michael Purser, 16, competed in the 94-kilogram weight class and took first place, snatching 76 kilos and lifting 101 kilos in the clean and jerk.

His older brother, David Purser, 19, competed in the 1,050-kilogram weight class and hit a personal best in the snatch, lifting 101 kilos. Purser then lifted 133 kilos in the clean and jerk for a first- place finish.
