The countdown to Georgia Games is on and all are welcome

The countdown to the 2007 Georgia Games Championships has begun. The amateur championship games provides athletes with more than 40 sporting events and will be July 7-22 in the Greater Metro Atlanta Area.
The Georgia Games are modeled in the spirit of the Olympics, and provide Georgia’s amateur athletes of all ages and skill level the opportunity to compete in a championship sporting event.  
Any resident from Georgia can compete, and there are no restrictions on the number of events a participant can enter.
In past years, 139 of Georgia’s 159 counties have been represented in Georgia State Games programs.
Events include archery, badminton, BMX cycling, baseball, basketball, bowling, boxing, cycling-criterium, cycling-road race, diving, equestrian, flag football, judo, lacrosse, racquetball, roller hockey, rowing, rugby,  shooting-BB gun, shooting-shotgun, shooting-BB rifle and western three gun, softball, swimming, table tennis, team handball, tennis, track and field, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball-outdoor, volleyball-indoor, weightlifting-Olympic, weightlifting-power and wrestling.
