Three LCRD teams headed to GRPA championships

Three local Liberty County Recreation Department All-Star baseball and softball teams are headed to the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association state tournaments this week.

According to LCRD Director Jimmy Martin, the Flea boys baseball team will play that age group’s bracket in Savannah Wednesday. The Flea group is for boys ages 8 and younger.

The Mite girls softball team will play for the state title in Tifton. Mites are 10 and younger.
The junior softball team will play the tournament in Augusta. The junior age group is 14 and younger.

The LCRD Flea boys will take on Vidalia at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen E. Paulson softball complex, 7171 Skidaway Road. According to the schedule posted on the GRPA website they play on field one.

The Mite girls play Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Tift County at the E.B. Hamilton Complex in Tift County on field two.
The junior girls play at Diamond Lakes Regional Park in Augusta at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Vidalia. They will play on field two.
