The Blue Tide baseball team lost three games in a row last weekend.

On Friday, the team took on Pierce County High School in Blackshear. And even though the Long County pitchers held the Herons to four runs, the Tide lost, 3-4.

On Saturday, the boys traveled over to Pembroke for the Diamond Day Classic and were defeated in their opening game, 8-5, by Groves High School. In the second game, the Tide lost to Bryan County, 17-2.

The Blue Tide’s overall record now sits at 1-6, but they are 1-1 in the 2-AA Region.

On Tuesday, Long County took on Appling County at home. Results for that game were not available by press time.

Today, the Blue Tide hit the road to take on Ware Magnet High School. The 1E-A Eagles have yet to win a game.

In the Tide’s six losses, they have been outscored 75-18. That comes to plus-12 runs scored against them, to the 3 runs they have scored. The Tide’s one win came against the Benedictine Cadets, where solid pitching produced a 12-6 win.

Tonight’s game starts at 5:30 in Manor.
