The Long County Blue Tide baseball team had a terrific 2021 season advancing to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. With the season and school year wrapping up, the team has received some final honors with them placing seven players on the Region 1-AAA All-Region teams and one player receiving All-State honors.

Senior TJ Criswell stands out first as being named one of the two First Team All-Region pitchers. He was also the only Blue Tide player to receive All-State Honorable Mention for AAA from the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine list.

Joining Criswell on the first team were juniors Dwayne Rowe at outfielder and Daniel Edwards at designated hitter. The Blue Tide also placed four more on the All-Region 1-AAA Second Team.

Freshman Landon Runyon made the list as a pitcher, junior Joseph Cammack as a catcher, senior Ethan Wells as a first baseman and junior Jacob Struble as an outfielder.

At their awards banquet on Monday, June 21, the team also celebrated seniors Noah Kuhaneck and Criswell, who will remain teammates in college. Both of them signed to play baseball at South Georgia State College, marking the second year in a row two Blue Tide baseball players signed at the same school.

With five of the seven players who made All-Region returning for the 2022 season, you will be hard-pressed to find someone who thinks the Blue Tide baseball team won’t be able to repeat their success from the 2021 season.
