Long County High School head basketball coach Reggie Wilkes held the first Tide of Tomorrow Basketball Camp last month.

Wilkes said that from Oct. 16 to 20 campers between kindergarten and 8th grade came to the high school. He said 100 girls and boys participated. He said the campers were divided up by their ages and taught basketball fundamentals.

He said each division had one of the Blue Tide basketball coaches on the team. The goal was having fun, as well as learning.

The coach said he thought the camp was a success and he plans to do it again next year.

"A great time this week at the Tide of Tomorrow Basketball Camp," Wilkes said. "I hope everyone had a great time, I’m already looking forward to next year."

The coach said that in addition to learning a lot about basketball, each camper also received a T-shirt and a game pass to watch the Long County High School basketball teams face Jeff Davis High School on Jan. 2 in Ludowici.
