The Blue Tide was well represented this year on the 2-AA All-Region baseball team with four players recognized.

Pitcher Bryan Wingate made the 2-AA All-Region first team, while outfielder Stevie Harrison and pitcher Tommy Freeman made the second team and catcher Shane White got an honorable mention.

Long County will lose Harrison and White, who are both graduating, but Wingate and Freeman will be back next year to give the Tide a little help on the pitching mound.

"I an very pleased to have four players to be selected to be on the All Region Team. It is a tribute to their work ethic and determination. I’m very proud of them," said Long County High School head baseball coach Brian Thomas.

This year, the Blue Tide finished its season with an overall record of 8-17 and a 2-AA record of 7-9. The team wound up tied for the fourth spot in the region, but missed the state tournament in a tie-breaker to Brantley County.
