On Friday the Long County High School football team will hit the road taking on Tattnall County in a big Region 2-AAA matchup.
The Battle Creek Warriors bring a 3-5 overall record into the game while the Blue Tide go into the game still looking for their first win of the season, at 0-8. In region games Long County is 0-3 while Tattnall County sits at 1-2.
In comparing common opponents both teams have been beaten by Bradwell Institute, Liberty County High School, and Pierce County. In the Tigers game Long County last 10-7, while Tattnall County fell 24-14. In the Panthers game the Warriors lost by a score of 35-13, while the Blue Tide lost 62-6.
And in the Bears game Long County lost 34-0, while Tattnall County fell 31-22. Tattnall County’s three wins have been over Claxton High School (28-7), Beach High School (20-6), and Brantley County (21-13).
In comparing the two team’s offensively and defensively Tattnall County is averaging 17 points a game and giving up 21 points, while Long County is putting up 12 points a night and giving up 34.
The game is in Reidsville and it begins at 7:30.
