Tide track competes in Camden County

The Long County High School track team recently competed in its first meet this year, traveling to Camden County where the girls placed 4th and the boys took 5th.

Head Coach Myron Grimes said, "The team did fine in their opener at Camden County. The girls placed 4th and the boys 5th in scoring."

Girls results:

In the 3,200 meter race, Marie Masson placed 7th overall, while in the 800 meter competition, Joanna Lucas placed 3rd and Laura Clary placed 4th in their heats. Lucas and Clary finished the day in 9th place and 11th place respectively.

In the 400 meter event, Lucas placed 6th in her heat and finished the day 10th overall.

In the 100 meter race, Sarah Gonzalez placed 5th in her heat and 12th overall. In the 200 meter race, she managed 6th in her heat and 12th overall.

In the 1,600 meter competition, Linda Stevens got 8th in her heat and also finished 8th overall.

The Long County Lady Tide placed 2nd in their heat in the 4x400 meter relay, and placed 8th for the day.

 

Boys results

Masson Tucker got 2nd in his 800 meter heat, while finishing 13th overall. He also competed in the 3,200 meter competition and the 1,600 meter events, finishing in 8th place overall in each one.

Brandon Adkins ran in the 400 meter race, finishing 4th in his heat and 17th overall. In the 200 and 100 meter competitions, he placed 15th overall.

Jonathon Tigue placed first in his 800 meter heat and wrapped up the day in 12th place overall.

In the shot put event, Nickolas Garcia placed 7th in the event and 12th overall.
