Tiger boys win opener

Bradwell Institute opened up their basketball season Tuesday hosting Wayne County High School. The girls fell 55-36 but he boys were triumphant winning 54-42.

In the girls game Lady Tiger junior guard Alyssa McDuffie drained 13 points to lead in scoring. Senior Raina Richardson chipped in eight, Brianna Johnson added six, Ashanti Harris scored five, Autiana Hightower added two and Sabrna Green and Rayona Shuman both had one point each.

McDuffie and Richardson both made two three-point shots in the game.

The Lady Tigers were 6-of-15 in free throws and the defense nabbed 21 rebounds and four steals.

The stats for the boys’ game had not been posted.

The Lady Tigers are 0-1 and the Tiger boys are 1-0. Bradwell will host Liberty County High this Saturday. The girls tip-off at 6:30 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow.
