HINESVILLE -- The Bradwell Institute media center was filled with supporters as Tiger football student-athletes defensive end Mikah Kent and offensive tackle Audrick Fuller made their commitments official by signing their National Letters of Intent.
Kent will be heading to Division I’s Davidson College of the Pioneer Football Conference.
Fuller inked his name for LaGrange College of Division III.
Kent committed to the Wildcats on Dec. 10, 2021, and made it official four months later.
The high honor roll student credited scholastic excellence and the welcoming nature that he experienced on his visits to Davidson.
“It was a lot of paperwork,” Kent joked “I visited there two times. The coaches are people you can get along with and they put emphasis on that they’re there for you. It seems like it’s a good environment. A big thing for me was academics and they’re one of the best academically schools. It seemed like a place that I would fit in at. It was smooth sailing after talking to the coach. I’ve been keeping in touch with the coaches, and it’s been a good experience.”
He plans to go into the Biology Pre-Med field to become a doctor once he obtains his degree.
Being a 6-foot-3-inch, 220 lb. defensive lineman, Kent will extend his work ethic to the maximum to succeed on the field.
“They’re getting somebody that works hard all the time,” he said. “I may not be the biggest defensive lineman, but I always play big and play my hardest. They’re going to get a hard worker.”
During his time at Bradwell, Kent made sure to set a positive precedent for student-athletes that will come behind him.
“A lot of players looked up to me because I tried to be a leader,” he said of his time at Bradwell. “I really didn’t talk smack. I just did what I had to do so that’s something that they can carry on. I left a legacy of doing what I needed to do in the classroom and on the field and everybody got to see that. I stood as an example student-athlete like you should be.”
Fuller officially committed to the Panthers days before putting his name on paper to finalize his decision.
“I committed this week, but I really knew that it was going to be the college I go to,” he said. “I visited other colleges, but I really liked LaGrange.”
The size of LaGrange College and the diligence of the athletes drove Fuller into making his decision.
“I liked the atmosphere of the good, small college when I visited the campus,” Fuller said after signing his NLI. “It fits me as a person, and I like the coaches. I met some of the players there and they have a real work ethic. They really work hard.”
The 6-foot-2-inch, 250 lb. offensive lineman focus will be on securing the right tackle position.
“I can play every position on the offensive line but I’m really going at right tackle,” Fuller said. “They really need a right tackle so that’s going to be me.”
He will major in Sports Management and Sports Medicine.
Fuller wants future and younger Tigers to know that if he can reach the next level, they can do it too.
Once he arrives to LaGrange, he plans to put in the work needed to prove himself to coaches and teammates.
“I showed that I’m a hard worker and showed everybody that they can do it too and go bigger than what I’m going,” Fuller said of his Bradwell legacy. “When I go to LaGrange, I want to show them that I’m a hard worker and I don’t give up.”
Tiger’s Head Coach Deshon Brocks signing duo will now be under the leadership of head coaches Scott Abell (Davidson) and Earl Chambers (LaGrange).
