So much for the home-team advantage. The Bradwell Tigers lost their edge over Pebblebrook High School, which is No. 3 in the 4A-AAAAA region, Wednesday night in the first round of the state playoffs, losing 3-1.

The Tiger boys finished second in region 3-AAAAA behind Camden County. Being a high seed earned them a first-round home game against the Mableton team, which had a 2-1 lead with two minutes left in the game before hitting its third goal.

According to Georgia Preps, Bradwell was 4-0 in the region heading into Wednesday’s game.

The boys squad will lose seven players this year, three of whom were starters on head coach Greg Cooke’s roster.

However, key starters like Chris Shuster and David Miller are expected to return next season, giving the Tigers another chance at a solid season and a post-season berth.
