Tigers and Panthers prepare for 'Friday night lights' games

Bradwell Institute will host Tattnall County and Liberty County High School will host Cross Creek Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers (0-3) are coming off a tough 50-0 loss to Vidalia last week. Tiger quarterback Vencent Gilbert is currently 32-of-58- for 438 passing yards in three games. Tiger Kevin Harris has rushed for 128 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns to date. Donte Jones has 83 yards on 33 carries. Tristian Pullins has 18 receptions for 290 yards.

Leading the defense in total tackles is Alijah Jones with 19 total tackles, Brendan Brittingham has 15 total tackles, E.J. Togia and Corrie Walker have 12 total tackles each.

The Tigers host Tattnall County Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Liberty County High School Panthers are 2-1 and will host Cross Creek Friday at Donell Woods Stadium at 7:30 p.m. They beat Bradwell 40-17, lost at Statesboro 23-6 and beat Evans County last week 32-19.

Their offense has passed for 153 yards and a touchdown. Kris Coleman leads the rushing game with 703 yards on 56 carries and 8 touchdowns. He also has 6 receptions for 48 yards. Jaleel Gilbert has 3 receptions for 51 yards.

Markel Johnson leads in total tackles with 36, Carlos Hunt has 35, Nolan Dickens has 24 and Zomdric Bennett has 22.

The Panthers kick-off at 7:30 p.m. Both games are pending weather conditions.
