Tigers drop last 2 on diamond

Bradwell’s baseball team took two loses on Tuesday and Wednesday during road games.

The diamond Tigers fell to region 3-AAAAA’ s second seeded team, Jenkins, Tuesday when Warriors pitcher Eric Ricks pitched his second perfect game in two years. The Bradwell boys lost 0-6 but still cling to third place in the region with a 4-4 region record.

Tiger pitcher Eran Hodge took the loss.

Ricks faced 21 batters in seven innings with no walks or hits. In 2009 he pitched a perfect game against Savannah Christian in eight innings.

On Wednesday the Hinesville boys ventured to Jesup where they were stung in three innings by the Yellow Jackets. Wayne County shut down the Tigers with a 15-0 run-rule win.

The Tigers will host two home games next week, facing Groves on Tuesday and Brunswick on Thursday.
