DOUGLAS – Fred Brown rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and the state’s top-ranked Class AAAAA team rolled to a convincing win as the Coffee Trojans routed Bradwell Institute 62-6 Friday at Jardine Stadium.

Quarterback Maurice Hansley was 7-of-9 passing for three touchdowns, and Trojans quarterbacks completed passes to seven different receivers.

The Trojans improved to 6-0 with the win in the Region 1-AAAAA opener for both teams. The Tigers fell to 2-4.

Coffee opened a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and doubled that to 56-0 at halftime.

The road gets a little longer and almost as difficult for the Tigers this week, who have to travel to Waycross to face the No. 5-ranked Ware County Gators.

Ware County thumped Jenkins 56-0 as Luke Hooks threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns no 15-of-19 passing. Dae’jeaun Dennis ran 19 times for 121 yards and two TDs, and Quintin Orange had 115 yards on five catches.

Hooks has thrown for 1,094 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season, while Dennis and RJ Boyd each have more than 300 yards rushing. Orange has 24 receptions for 418 yards and four touchdowns.
