Tigers struggling early in season

The Bradwell Tigers hit the road to play Glynn County on Wednesday only to find themselves short of runs at the end of seven (3-8).
Coach Rhett Hellgren remains excited about the season but knows it will take hard work to pull in what he calls all three aspects of the game.
"Pitching is one, hitting is two and defense is three," he said. "We just can't put all three together right now to make a complete game."
But Hellgren is not despondent and plans to plug away at practice to make sure the Tiger squad can pull all three together before their region opener against Camden. They still have two non-region games to get the job done.
Steven Dill pitched five innings before being replaced by Kentrell Hargrove for the rest of the game. Dill gave up five runs. Hellgren said he pitched well and was not supported with runs until late in the game.
The Tigers had four hits and a bunt single by Hargrove.
The 0-4 Tigers will get another chance at becoming cohesive today when they host McIntosh Academy. The first pitch is at 5 p.m.
