Tigers tame Bucs as local squads put wrap on 2020

The Bradwell Institute Tigers and Liberty County High School Panthers wrapped up some basketball games before the teams take time off for Christmas break

The Bradwell Institute boys’ basketball team beat McIntosh County Academy 60-51 on Dec. 15 but fell to Coffee County in a three-point decision loss Dec. 18. The Trojans won 64-61.

In their victory over the Buccaneers Jonathan Bryant had 12 points and Tristen Armas chipped in 10. The Tigers went 17 of 37 in free throws.

Against the Trojans the Tigers were led by Armas with 17 points and Jaylin Frasier with 14 points. Armas was 3 of 5 three-point shots and Frasier was 2 of 6 from downtown. The Tigers percentage at the free throw line was 45 percent against the Trojans.

The Tiger boys are now 2-4 overall and will host Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 5, 2021.

The Lady Tigers are 2-3 overall after falling 40-29 at Coffee County High School Dec. 18. In the loss Lady Tigers Kennese Madria and T. Alston each scored six points. Alysia Estrada, K. Tillman and Ta’naya Moore each chipped in 4 points each. The Lady Tigers were 5 of 8 at the free throw line.

They host the Brunswick Lady Pirates at 6 p.m. Jan. 5, 2021.

Liberty Panthers

The Liberty County High School boys’ basketball team are 3-4 overall and were scheduled to play Windsor Forest Dec. 15, but no scores or stats were posted. 

Their last recorded game was against Long County which the Courier reported on last week.

The Panther boys will host Tattnall County at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 5, 2021. The Liberty Lady Panthers are 2-4 overall and will tip-off against Tattnall first at 6 p.m.
