The Richmond Hill Wildcats came from behind to wipe away a 3-0 lead and took the victory out of the Liberty County Panthers’ paws Tuesday night.
According to Panther head coach Steve Cotrell his players were just not swinging the bat.
Skyler Hoffer started for 5-1/3 innings, getting 7 strikeouts and allowing 1 earned run. Chris Arnold finished the game, getting the loss and allowing 2 earned runs.
“We just let them hang around and they scored 2 in the sixth and 2 in the bottom of the 7th,” the coach said. “We were up 3-0 in the sixth.”
Ethan Pringle went 2 for 4, Arnold went 2 for 3 and Byron Calahan went 1 for 3 with an RBI.
The Panthers were scheduled to play Calvary Day last night for a non-region game before hitting the road for 2 back-to-back regional games against Hephzibah and Benedictine tonight and Saturday, respectively.
The Panthers still maintain a second place standing in 3S-AAA behind undefeated South Effingham.
