While fans have been focused on First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys varsity squad’s 19-0 season, the junior varsity boys and girls have made their own advances toward region championships.

David Linderman and the junior varsity squad already took the city championship trophy for having the best record (5-1) against Lewis Frasier, Midway and Snelson-Golden Middle School.

"We swept Lewis Frasier and Snelson-Golden and split with Midway Middle," Linderman said. "Our last home game is Monday all four teams will play."

With a city trophy under their belts, the JV boys went on to win the junior high school Region 2-A championship by defeating Bethesda in round one and Citizens Christian on Wednesday in Douglas.

The JV boys downed the Blazers 48-28, just four days after the varsity squad handed the Blazers their second loss — their first at home in 29 games. Linderman’s squad defeated Citizens 51-16.

The junior varsity Lady Highlanders also won the junior high school Region 2-A first place trophy by defeating Citizens Christian, 22-9.
