Youth quail quota hunts slated

Hunters can apply for two scheduled youth quail quota hunts that will take place on land managed for bobwhite quail, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division.

Two hunts are available, one in Burke County on Dec. 16, and one in Bleckley County on Jan. 26, 2019. Each hunt is open to two (2) youth and adult pairs.

All youth participants must have completed their hunter education course. Hunters are encouraged to bring their own dogs. However, if not possible, bird dogs and a handler may be available.

Visit www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com, select “Quota Hunts” and follow the steps to complete an application.  Applications must received by Nov. 30. Youth must be between 10 and 17 years of age.
