With the help of local businesses, entrepreneur Natalie Richards is serving up deals to military families in Hinesville through her free website, basecouponconnection.com.
Richards started her online venture in part to stay occupied during her husband’s deployment, but also to provide a service to fellow military families.
“I get to help them save money and also help local businesses maximize their profits,” she said.
Richards recently shared the five best things she finds in being a small business owner.
1. You get to set your own goals. “Every day is a challenge, which is good because I get bored easily.
2. You can make a flexible schedule. “It allows me more time to take care of my three children.”
3. You get to make frequent connections. “I get to be in touch with new business people and military families every day.”
4. The (financial) possibilities are endless. “You can make as much money as you’re willing to work for.”
5. You get to make a difference. “I feel like I’m contributing to the community as well as to my family.”
