Educator earns doctorate from GSU

Gwendolyn A. Martin, a native of Liberty County, recently earned a doctorate degree in educational leadership from Georgia Southern University.
She is the daughter of Charlie and Mattie Jones of Riceboro.

Martin is employed as a school guidance counselor for the Department of Defense Education Activity on Fort Stewart. She began her career as a special education teacher and earned the Sallie Mae First Class Teacher award as a first-year teacher.
Martin transitioned to counseling as a means to advocate for all students, not just those in her class. She is a licensed professional counselor and national board certified.
