STATESBORO -- Four Liberty County residents have graduated from the seventh annual Leadership Southeast Georgia program.
Anna Chafin, Brett Green, Kimberly Sachau and Sherrie Struble received diplomas at the graduation on March 29, at the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.
There were 17 participants in the 2007-08 class. The 10-county program was created in partnership with the Regional Advisory Council and Georgia Southern University.
The program gathers emerging leaders who were nominated by their own communities to attend six weekend sessions of leadership training, networking and skill-building.
Chafin is director of marketing and research for the Liberty County Development Authority. She has served as a volunteer for the Relay for Life cancer walk and fundraiser. She earned a degree in communications from Mercer University.
Green is retail floor supervisor at VIP Office and Furniture Supply. A past participant in the Liberty County Leadership Program, he attended the University of South Carolina.
Sachau is an accountant with Coastal Electric Cooperative in Midway. She has volunteered for Red Cross blood drives, the American Diabetes Association Kiss-A-Pig fundraiser, and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. A participant in the Liberty County Leadership Program, she earned an accounting degree from Columbia College.
Struble is assistant vice president and consumer lender for The Heritage Bank in Hinesville. She has executive membership in the Kiwanis Club of Liberty County, the Liberty County Citizens Panel Review, and the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. She received a degree in general studies from Kansas State University.
