Shannon M. Ross has been promoted to the rank of specialist while deployed to Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan, in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom in the U.S. Army.
Ross, a logistics specialist assigned to the Task Force Destiny, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, has served in the military for two years.
She is the daughter of Janice and Dennis E. Ross of Hinesville.
Ross graduated in 2008 from Bradwell Institute.

Atkins graduates from basic

Air Force Airman Steve M. Atkins Jr. graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Atkins is the son of Steve and Renee Atkins of Hinesville.
The airman is a 2005 graduate of the Bradwell Institute.
