SFC Edwin Reyes 

Army Sgt. 1st Class Edwin Reyes is currently deployed as a member of Task Force Marne, one of more than 20,000 soldiers from the Fort Stewart-based 3rd Infantry Division and elements of the 101st Airborne Division from Fort Campbell, Ky. The soldier is serving a 15-month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
With more than 53 patrol bases within their area of operation, the task force has made significant strides in enhancing security in the region. Since the arrival of the task force more than a year ago, violence in the region has been reduced by more than 75 percent.
The decrease in violence has allowed the task force to focus on rebuilding efforts, including local governance and economic development, along with medical treatment missions, providing fresh drinking water and working with local security forces and volunteers to provide a broad blanket of stability to the region.
Reyes, an equal opportunity advisor and air traffic control operator, is assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Company, Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. His home station is Fort Stewart. He has served in the military for 10 years.
He is the son of Lydia M. Rodriguez of Rural Route 2, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.
His wife, Limary, is the daughter of Reynaldo and Mirta Ortiz of Live Oak Drive, Hinesville.
The sergeant first class graduated in 1991 from Vocational High School, Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, and received a bachelor's degree in 1995 from Sacred Heart University, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
     
     
Master Sgt. Magwood

Army Master Sgt. Carlos J. Magwood is an intelligence senior sergeant/chief intelligence sergeant, and has served in the military for 15 years.
He is the son of Rosa Mae Austin of Stoudemire St., Elba, Ala.
His wife, Charleene, is the daughter of Althenia Hairston of Flowers Drive, Hinesville.
The sergeant is a 1990 graduate of Elba High School.
