Chuck and Ruth McHugh celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 30.

They were married Nov. 30, 1957 in Valley Forge, Pa. He retired from the Army in 1978 as a first sergeant. Ruth retired from Fort Stewart’s Exchange as a supervisor in 2002. Subsequent to his retirement, Chuck managed the Brice Cinema for 16 years and was a part-time 911 dispatcher and a DJ on FM 92.3, where he was known as “Mark Mitchell” and “The Soulmaster.”

The couple has six children and 10 grandchildren. A family cruise is planned for next year.
