It’s time for a little spring cleaning. The Post-Wide Housing Garage Sale is an opportunity to make a dollars from things no longer needed.

The sale, at housing units only, will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 13. Register by April 3 to have your sale sited on a map that will be available at stewartmwr.com or huntermwr.com.

Everyone, military and civilian, is invited. The sale will be on Fort Stewart and Hunter post housing.

Pizza and bowling

Buy any 17-inch pizza and get two free games of bowling at Hunter Lanes Saturday from 6-9 p.m.

Fishing tourney changed

The Canoochee River Bass Tournament, scheduled from 6:30 a.m.-noon Saturday has been renamed the Fort Stewart Bass Tournament and moved to Pond 1, Pineview Lake.

The event is a catch-and-release, five-fish limit tourney. Every registered participant will get a T-shirt.

It is open to Stewart/Hunter fishing pass and permit holders and will be limited to the first 25 boats registered. Trawling motors only. Scores will be determined by total weight and there will be an award for the largest fish.

Registration is $25 for military ID cardholders and $40 for civilian through Friday. Registrations from 5:30-7 a.m. Saturday costs $30 for cardholders and $45 for civilians.

Texas Hold'em Tournament

Hunter Club will have a Texas Hold 'em Tournament from 7-midnight Saturday.

Doors open at 6 for registration. There is a $25 entry fee per person and lots of prizes.

Liberty Schools time change

The Liberty County Schools has set two forums to let families voice opinions about proposed class start time changes for next 2013-2014 school year.

The proposed middle and high School time is 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Current hours are 8:20 a.m.-3:10 p.m. The proposed elementary and pre-K time is 8:20 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Current hours are 7:40 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The first forum will be at 6 p.m. March 25 at the Liberty County Board Office. The other forum will be at 6 p.m. March 26 at Liberty Elementary School cafeteria.

 

Easter Brunch

Bring the family and friends to Club Stewart for an Easter Brunch from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. March 31.

The menu features omelet bar and breakfast items, plus a carving station with favorites. Advance ticket earn discounts, $3 off for adults and $1 off for children, and are available at club information counters. Prices at the door will be $17.95 for adults and $7.45 for children (ages 5-10). Younger children eat free.

Easter egg hunt

Bring your toddlers, up to age 5, to take part in the Corkan Easter Egg Hunt for them. The hunt begins at 10 a.m. March 29 at Cypress Creek and ends when all eggs are found.

Children’s Storytime

Military Child Education Coalition staffers present a program for children up to age 12 every Tuesday during March at 9:30 a.m. at George P. Hays Library on Fort Stewart. Kids hear stories and enjoy crafts. There’s no charge. For more information, call 767-2828.
