SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Savannah police say they've taken two people into custody after surrounding a home where they said a woman armed with a gun was holed up inside.

Until the standoff was resolved Wednesday morning, police redirected students on their way to Shuman Elementary School, which is near the home.

Police tell WTOC-TV that the woman barricaded herself inside the home with her boyfriend around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The Savannah Morning News reported that police said a rifle or shotgun was fired following a domestic dispute inside the home.

Details on possible charges were not immediately available.
